The purpose of this study is to identify the importance of personality when the North Korean Defectors attempt to adjust in Korea. To do so, we analyzed the impact of A type behavior pattern and locus of control on the interpersonal anxiety of the North Korean Defectors, and compared the results with ones of the South Koreans. The research participants are composed of the North Korean Defectors (n=82) and the South Koreans (n=96). The result showed that the A type score and external locus of control score of the North Korean Defectors were higher than those variables of the South Koreans. And the higher are these tendencies, the lower is social anxiety. Based on these results, it is necessary to consider the North Korean Defectors¡¯ psychological traits such as personality to understand their adaptation in Korea.
